About Austin No Kill Coalition

The Austin No Kill Coalition is a collective, grass roots, community voice with the shared goal of a no kill Austin.

Our vision is a positive outcome for every healthy and treatable shelter animal in Austin.

Our long-term goals are:

• Rally community to get involved
• Raise awareness regarding shelter statistics and educate on progressive alternatives to the traditional shelter kill model
• Achieve and maintain a no kill city. Once the urgency expels, we want to ensure the future remains no-kill.

Our current short-term goals are:

• Hold a Community Forum of City Council Candidates to learn about their views and educate them on the programs needed to make no-kill communities.
• Continue supporting Town Lake Animal Center and the new director, Abigail Smith, to make Austin the largest no-kill city in the US
